Lédger® Live Backup ™
Your recovery phrase is the master key. Lédger® Live Backup helps you securely store your 24-word recovery phrase, export account configurations, and sync preferences across devices — all while keeping your private keys offline.
Why backup matters: Your Lédger® Live wallet is only as secure
as your recovery phrase. If your device is lost, stolen, or damaged, the backup
is the only way to restore access to your funds. Lédger® Live provides several
backup layers:
1. Recovery phrase (24 words): Written on the recovery sheet
included with your Lédger device. Never store it digitally — keep it offline
in a secure location.
2. Settings export: Lédger® Live allows you to export your
account configurations, custom networks, and preferences. This makes restoring
your portfolio view seamless after a reinstall.
3. Cloud sync (optional): For convenience, Lédger® Live offers
encrypted cloud backup of your portfolio data (not your recovery phrase).
This syncs your transaction history and account labels across devices.
⚠️ Important:
Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. Lédger will never ask for it.
Always verify the backup sheet before discarding your old device.
